Offer of Scholarship for Malawi Students for Academic Year 2018-19

OFFER OF SCHOLARSHIPS FOR MALAWI STUDENTS FULLY SPONSORED BY GOVERNMENT OF INDIA FOR THE ACADEMIC SESSION-2018- 2019 APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FROM THE ELIGIBLE PROSPECTIVE CANDIDATES.

The Government of India, through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) offers about 5000 scholarships under 22 scholarship schemes. Under the ‘Africa Scholarship Scheme’ introduced during the ‘India-Africa Forum Summit’ held in New Delhi in 2015, total 900 slots are allocated for countries in the Africa Region this year. 15 slots have been allotted to Malawi for study at Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Ph.D. level during the current academic year 2018-19. Students are admitted in prestigious Colleges/Universities of India
Last date of submission of Application Form to the High Commission of India, Lilongwe: 15 February 2018. Applications are received by the High Commission only through online portal http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/. Interested applicants may register themselves with the Portal and download guidelines and relevant forms through the portal.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

· Not more than 10 points in MSCE for Under Graduate courses.
· 3.6 CGPA points at graduate level for Post Graduate courses.
· Applicants applying for Ph.D. should have completed their Masters degree and should submit a synopsis in the field of their prospective research through this Scholarship.
· Minimum Age limit 18 years by July 2018.
· For Bachelor of Engineering Courses (B.E.)-Physical Science (Physics and Chemistry) and Mathematics must be their subjects in MSCE with at least 2 points in each subject.
· Applicants should also fulfill the educational qualifications prescribed by the University for the courses.
· Malawi Nationals resident in Malawi and who have qualifications from Malawi affiliated educational institutes can apply.
· Medical Certificate to be submitted from the recognized hospital in the prescribed format. Applicant should ensure that they are not suffering from T.B., Cancer, AIDS & ailments affecting vital organs and female applicant is not in the family way.


SELECTED CANDIDATES ARE ENTITLED TO THE FOLLOWING :

· Payment of Tuition fees/Registration Fees.
· Return economy class air fares.
· Hostel Facilities – ICCR scholars will have to compulsorily stay in hostel provided by Government of India. Stay in private accommodation will not be allowed.
· Living Allowance.
