2.    High Commissioner of India, H.E. S. Gopalakrishnan, hoisted the tricolor, which was followed by singing of the National Anthem. Thereafter, the High Commissioner read out the address of the Rashtrapatiji  to the nation on the eve of the 77th Independence Day. In the evening, High Commission in association with Indian Country Club and Indian Community Forum organized a programme to celebrate the 77th Independence Day at the Indian Country Club, Lilongwe.
