India Corner established at New Era School, Ntcheu
High Commission of India gifted more than 100 books to New Era School in Ntcheu. High Commissioner H.E. Amararam Gujar along with the Principal of New Era School J.G. Jesman inaugurated the ‘India Corner’ in the school library on December 05, 2025. High Commissioner highlighted ‘India Corner’s importance and relevance to connect India and Malawi through the timeless power of literature and culture. The High Commissioner also emphasized that the cultural exchange has always been a vital tool in boosting people-to-people contacts and helps in developing deep understanding among people and society. This initiative aims to introduce Indian culture and promote India’s presence to the outside world through donations of Indian literatures, books and publications.
India Corner is Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India’s flagship initiative under which Indian Embassies / High Commissions donates books on economics, art, culture, heritage, history, contemporary subjects to the foreign educational and academic institutions for their libraries. The purpose of this initiative to invoke interest among the students about India and its rich cultural heritage and economic growth as well as familiarize themselves about contemporary and modern India.
