Gifting of Artifical Limb Fitment Equipment and 1000 artificial limbs to Government of Malawi
On behalf of Government and people of India, High Commissioner of India H.E. Mr. S. Gopalakrishnan handed over Artifical Limb Fitment Equipment to Minister of Health on 09 July 2025. During her State Visit to Malawi in October 2024, Hon’ble President of India Smt. Drooupadi Murmu announced that India will assist Malawi in setting up Artificial Limb Fitment Centre in Malawi. High Commissioner also symbolically handed over a gift of 1000 artificial limbs to the Government of Malawi. Senior officials of Ministry of Health and Ministry of Foreign Affairs also attended the ceremony. Earlier, Government of India had organised 2 artificial limb fitment camps in 2018 and 2024 from which about 1000 Malawians benefitted.
