Blood Donation Camp Organised to Commemorate 80th Anniversary of India’s Independence
The High Commission of India, Lilongwe, in collaboration with ZMK Medical Centre and the Indian Muslim Community of Malawi, organised a Blood Donation Camp at ZMK Medical Centre, Area 9, Lilongwe, on 23 August 2026.
2. The initiative was organised as part of the commemorative activities marking India’s 80th Independence Day and aimed at promoting the spirit of service, compassion and community welfare. The camp provided an opportunity for members of the Indian community, Friends of India and well-wishers to come forward and contribute towards saving lives through voluntary blood donation. Many members of the Indian community, Friends of India, along with officials of the High Commission of India, enthusiastically participated in the Camp and donated blood.
3. The High Commission of India expressed its appreciation to ZMK Medical Centre and the Indian Muslim Community of Malawi for their collaboration in organising the camp and to all those who participated in this noble humanitarian initiative. The Blood Donation Camp reaffirmed the enduring message that a voluntary gift of blood can save lives and demonstrated the spirit of community service that continues to strengthen the bonds of friendship between India and Malawi.
