Viksit Bharat Run, 27th September 2026

A vibrant spirit of fitness, togetherness and community participation marked the Viksit Bharat Run 2026 organized by the High Commission of India, Lilongwe on 27 September 2026, as part of Seva Pakhwada 2026.

More than 350 participants from all walks of life, including members of the Indian Diaspora, Friends of India and the local Malawian community, came together to participate in the Run.

High Commissioner HE Mr. Amararam Gujar, along with Guest of Honor General George Alexander Jaffu (Jr), the Chief of Defense Forces, Malawi Defense Force flagged off the Run, which brought together the community in a spirit of fitness, unity and a shared vision of a Viksit Bharat. The enthusiastic participation reflected the strong bonds of friendship between India and Malawi and the spirit of inclusivity that brought people together for this community event.

The top five finishers were felicitated with prizes and certificates in recognition of their achievements.
