High Commission of India in Lilongwe celebrated ITEC Day on 16 February 2026 in the city of Blantyre with the active participation of ITEC alumni (Civilians and Defence personnel) in large number. His Worship Isaac Jomo Osman, Mayor of Blantyre City Council, Government of Malawi graced the occasion as Guest of Honour and underscored the importance of ITEC and its contribution in skill development and capacity building in Malawi. High Commissioner H.E. Mr. Amararam Gujar highlighted the importance and significance of the MEA’s flagship initiative of ITEC programme which aims to contribute in the socio-economic development of partner developing countries.
Under ITEC, India shares its development experience, expertise and technical know-how with ITEC partner countries by offering capacity building scholarships for short and medium term courses in the premier Indian institutes.
ITEC alumni also shared their experiences and underscored the benefits of ITEC programme which proved useful for their professions.
