Construction of New Water Supply System

A  DPA LoC US$23.5 million project for the construction of a New Water Supply System from LikhubulaRiver in Mulanje to Blantyre. The President of Malawi H.E. Prof. Arthur Peter Mutharika performed the ground-breaking ceremony for the project on 7th November 2016 at the Mulanje mountain foothills. The project is being executed by Indian contractor SMC Infrastructure and is expected to increase the supply of water to Blantyre by 20 million litres per day. 35% of the Project was completed by August 2018 and remaining is to be completed by June 2019.
