Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri V. Muraleedharan (MoS) visited Malawi on 08-10 June 2022. This was the first high level visit from India after the new government formed under H.E. Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera in June 2020.

2. During the visit, MoS called on the President of Malawi H.E. Mr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera and discussed long-standing bilateral partnership and both agreed to give further impetus to the relations between India and Malawi. In his call on the Vice-President H.E. Mr. Saulos Klaus Chilima, he had fruitful discussion on our economic engagement with Malawi in diverse fields including agriculture and trade. MoS had a very productive bilateral meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Ms. Nancy Tembo and reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral relations between India and Malawi.
