  2nd Artificial Limb Fitment Camp (Jaipur Foot)



Under “India for Humanity” initiative, the 2nd Artificial Limb Fitment Camp (Jaipur Foot) was held between 24 July 2024 to 6th September 2024 at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe. During the 50-day Camp, 599 Malawian brothers and sisters (645 prosthesis) were fitted with artificial limbs and arms. On 6th September, a valedictory function was organised at Hotel Woodlands Lilongwe. The event was graced by Hon’ble Ms. Halima Daud, MP, Deputy Health Minister. Speaking at the event, Deputy Health Minister hailed India’s developmental assistance to Malawi and termed Jaipur Foot camp as life changing. Hon’ble Deputy Minister and High Commissioner also symbolically handed over artificial limbs and arms to few beneficiaries at the event. The first artificial limb fitment camp was held in 2018, in which about 500 Malawian brothers and sisters were fitted with artificial limbs. The event was attended by senior government officials, Ambassadors / High Commissioners, members of the Indian community among others.
